colourBLOCKme.

So I am super excited for this seasons extremely 'European Inspired' colour blocking fashion! When you first think of the idea you may cringe at composing melon blushes with tangerine oranges or chartreuse citruses with cobolt blues on the same piece of apparel. However I'm convinced it will grow on you. The more you see it worked the more you'll want to work it your own way. I'm happy knowing that this is something the fashion industry is pushing with such bold 'bright' concepts, allowing a level of freedom and uniqueness when putting outfits together, without phasing as many people as it may normally. To me this seems like a big step in fashion, which is exciting! I am hoping that Australian designers, buyers and retailers will continue to be highly influenced by European fashion as there are such creative ideas out there that the rest of the world could appreciate!

Because Ive become more and more aware of colour blocking I seem to see it in more ways than one. By accident as I was baking a batch of cupcakes this week I realized as I was busy icing that id colour blocked my cupcakes even!

With interiors however, Im not huge on the colour blocking concept when it comes to the colour of walls. I can very much appreciate it with decor and homewares or even just a quirky bright table setting.

Pretty much, colour seems to make me happy! And I am glad to see its coming through Australian fashion this spring/summer season. So if you remember when you first saw two colours that you thought clashed and cringed, I ask you to reconsider and give it a chance.

So on good Friday I spontaneously decided to take a trip back to my parents house out in Kurrajong to stay the night as they were away on Easter break. My best friend and I spent the night there and decided to head over the mountains on Saturday and see what quirky things we could come across and see where we ended up. On our journey we came across some old furnace ruins in the middle of a big paddock. It was perfect for photography and video footage even though it was sprinkling rain. The place had so much atmosphere, even though it seemed a little scary with the steam train noises in the distance it was so cool to explore these historic ruins. With our footage and photography I decided to make a short film, so have a watch and get a snippet of our adventure at the furnace ruins. Happy Easter! loads of love

So I know I haven't blogged in quite some time. However please don't think it hasn't crossed my mind a thousand and one times! Within the h.u.g.e gap I have gathered so so many precious things to share with you.
Life's been a bit of a roller coaster the past 3 months but on happy days such as these I've found the time to come across things that inspire me. I was walking with my pretty friend Georgi tonight and we were on the subject of blogs, so that just happened to be a little slice of inspiration for me to get back on and blog to share with you the piles, files and smiles I've been storing up!
Here are some photos I appreciate. I hope you can too!! :)

ps. If you have any links or stumble across a website or anything gorgeous please please share it with me!!
Love you

Bathtub IV

Sometimes I wish people would realize, Life is simple.

We are naive. Theres always something bigger. Fake smiling *actually makes you feel better. Frowning uses more energy... sooo why waste it on frowning when you could spend it on laughing??

Things such a this film keep me grounded, and remind me that theres bigger things in life than the little things some people worry about. So dont hate, Appreciate! Keep calm and CARRY ON! :) x

Beautiful homes in films...

Is it just me or do you envy all the stunning homes in movies?
They all seen very eclectic and lush. Normally with fresh light tones and very good mood lighting.

Some of the movies I have remembered the houses clearly, are 'Its Complicated' (the garden in that movie is so gorgeous too!) 'The Holiday' and  'Somethings Gotta Give'. If you haven't seen some of these movies you really should watch them even just to admire the houses they live in and the locations they're set in.

 Its Complicated

 Somethings Gotta Give

The Holiday

Hope you liked them as much as I did.
